Grades 3 to 12
Classic Skiing Lesson
The classic skiing lesson focuses on skill development and proper technique while building the student’s control and confidence in a fun and supportive environment. Single and multi-session lessons are available. Classes are available Monday through Friday in two-hour lesson blocks. There are a maximum of 80 students per session, with group sizes of up to 10.
Grades 7 to 12
Skate Skiing Lessons
Skate ski lessons are best for groups with prior nordic skiing experience and are most suitable for youth 13 years of age and over. Skate skiing is a great option for school athletic clubs, sports teams looking for cross-training options, and other outdoor recreation groups. Classes are available Monday through Friday in two-hour lesson blocks. There are a maximum of 80 students per session, with group sizes of up to 10.
Grades K to 12
Guided Snowshoe Tour
Snowshoeing is a fun and energizing way to experience the winter outdoors safely. Participants will learn basics such as the ten essentials and learn through participation in wilderness games and activities. Please notify us in advance if you have any curriculum requests. Curriculum requests depend on guide availability and experience, varying from season to season. Guided tours are available Monday through Friday in two-hour blocks—a maximum of 80 students per session with group sizes up to 20.

Snow Tubing at Gnarly's Tube Park
Our Snow Tube Park makes for a memorable wintertime experience! With up to 6 chutes roughly 100 meters in length and a tube tow to bring you back to the top, all you need to do is sit down and enjoy the thrill of the ride. Sessions are available Wednesday through Sunday in two-hour blocks. There is a maximum of 160 students per session.
*Must be 42" tall or age 6+ to visit Gnarly’s Tube Park!

Know before you go
- Groups are advised to arrive at least 30 minutes before the session start time.
- Larger groups will require more time to process.
- There may be some latitude to adjust lesson start and end times, but lesson blocks cannot overlap.
- Nordic school pricing includes the lesson, ticket and rentals for the day.
- All lessons will be conducted by trained instructors and guides.
Welcome to Cypress Nordic Area, set in picturesque Hollyburn Mountain. Our winter wonderland is yours to explore with students of all ages and abilities.
School group lessons, tours, and self-guided activities are available from December 16, 2024 - April 4, 2025. (Opening and closing dates are snow dependent).
- Cross country lessons and guided snowshoe tours can accommodate approximately 80 students per session.
- Once a booking is confirmed, we will send you Booking Policy details and a confirmation email
- Lesson/tour pricing applies to all students taking a lesson and includes ticket, rental, and instruction. Complimentary chaperone tickets/rentals are provided on a 1:10 ratio
- We do not charge for chaperones who have season passes and/or their own ski equipment.
- Lesson and tour programs will be staged at our Nordic Base Area.
- Belongings can be stored in the Nordic Rentals Building for students participating in cross country ski lessons or snowshoe tour sessions.
- Students participating in cross country ski lessons or snowshoe tour sessions are welcome to use our Hollyburn Tent Area for lunch consumption. If enjoying snow tubing at our base area, limited seating is available at the Nordic Cafe for smaller groups. Hollyburn Lodge and Nordic Cafe provide a limited packed or hot lunch menu for students at special pricing. Upon booking, please let us know if you would like to order and we'll provide you with an order form. Please note: School Group lunches are only available by pre-order.
- A chaperone is a teacher, educational assistant, support staff, parent or guardian. We ask that chaperones help us in the following areas:
- Assist students in the rental shop with equipment pick-up and return. Help students with boots, skis, and snowshoes.
- Ski or snowshoe with a group and assist with supervision during on-snow activities, washroom breaks, etc.
- Supervise students during lunch, before and after lessons.
- Complimentary tickets and rentals are provided for chaperones on a 1:10 ratio.
- For example, if you book 50 students, we will provide five chaperone tickets and rentals free of charge.
- Additional chaperones above the 1:10 ratio will be charged for trail tickets and rental fees at the discounted school group rate.
*Additional complimentary tickets/rentals can be requested for EA's and 1:1 support staff.
*Note for Ski Chaperones: Chaperones need to have the same or greater skiing ability as their student group to ensure a student-focused learning environment.
- Cypress reserves the right to change or cancel programs or alter pricing without notice.
- All products are non-transferable and non-refundable once purchased.
- All lesson programs and tours run regardless of weather conditions when the Nordic Area is open.
