DRONE POLICY
Due to safety and privacy concerns, Cypress Mountain prohibits the operation or use of unmanned aerial systems (drones) on or above Resort Property by the general public, including model aircraft used by recreational users and hobbyists.
This includes drones used for filming or videotaping, as well as any drone use by media or journalists operating above or within the area boundaries. This prohibition extends to any devices launched or operated from the Controlled Recreation Area (CRA), as well as any launched from private property outside of the CRA.
BC Parks Authorization Required: Cypress Mountain operates within Cypress Provincial Park, and drone operation on Resort Property falls under BC Parks jurisdiction. Permission to operate a drone anywhere within a provincial park requires prior authorization from BC Parks, and such authorization is rarely granted. Anyone wishing to fly a drone on or above Resort Property must contact BC Parks directly to apply for a park-use permit. If a permit is issued, a copy must be provided to Cypress Mountain in advance of any drone operation. No drone use is permitted without this documented authorization on file.
Violations: Any violation of this policy may result in suspension of access privileges to Cypress Mountain, revocation of your season pass, and confiscation of any prohibited equipment. Violators may also be held liable for damages, including but not limited to trespass, violations of privacy, and physical injury to persons and/or property, as well as associated legal fees.
