Mountain Update – Jan 10, 2017

Good Afternoon!

A huge thanks to all our customers who have spent time enjoying the amazing conditions—It sure has been a wonderful start to the ski season! We have sunshine in the forecast over the next three days, so please check out our Gold Medal Card offer for the best value on Lift Ticket Rates in town.

Everyone who has been to Cypress Mountain has seen the fleet of Big Red Snowcats at the Resort entrance.  Cypress Mountain has 2 Winch Cats equipped with a cable spool for propelling the machine to be able to climb up steep slopes, 2 Free-Groomers which can climb mediums slopes and a Park Cat which has been specially designed with more movement on the blade to groom terrain park features.

We have the biggest and most powerful Pisten Bully machines available with tons of horsepower for big pushes and storm cleanups, moving snowguns, digging our lifts, transporting terrain park features and levelling snow around the base area.  The most important part of the overnight task list, however is getting as many Runs as possible groomed out with fresh corduroy for our Skiers and Riders.

As well Cypress Mountain has another specially equipped PB400 to groom out the Cross Country Trails with corduroy skating lanes and 3 sets of tracks for classic skiing.

Our Great Grooming Crew has 12 operators who work the graveyard shift every night of the week trimming up the area for 9 AM every morning.  We salute this team of very skilled and dedicated staff who really care about the mountain conditions and work tirelessly to provide the best possible product every day of the season.

Have a great evening and see you on the Slopes!
