It has been a bit of a gap between ski reports as my husband and I did a big ski road trip a couple of weeks ago. All of the mountains we visited were very generous with their discounts because we were Cypress Pass Holders. Very cool. Saved us a bunch of moola!
It was a beautiful, blue sky day today. After travelling around British Columbia last week on a ski trip, I am impressed with the amount of snow Cypress has as a base. Much more than some of the other big resorts.
Snowmaking is a wonderful thing. If the temps are cold, it is always snowing at Cypress. Long gone are the days of bulletproof, hard pack. Did many laps down Jasey Jay today. Every run had fresh tracks from blowing, man-made snow. Given the very little actual precipitation this past week, super fun.
My husband met a great french guy today who works on Cavalia. He doesn’t get a lot of skiing in with the intense schedule with the horses and the shows, but what a skier he was! Beat his butt down the hill. I believe he actually was a ski racer back in the day. Always meet the best people on the mountain.
Off again on another adventure tomorrow to Shames and Hudson Bay ski resorts. To help us get our gear there, we purchased great bags today on the mountain to carry our skis. Our kitty thinks he is coming too! Cypress has it all! 🙂
