Freestyle Terrain Symbol Most skiers and riders are familiar with the standard Green Circle (Easiest), Blue Square (Intermediate), Black Diamond (Most Difficult) and Double Black Diamond (Expert Only) trail Sign Markers. The Orange Oval is a fairly new one on the block. Often refered to as the "Orange Pill" it marks the sign of freestyle terrain. Freestyle Terrain may contain jumps, hits, ramps, banks, fun boxes, jibs, rails, half pipes, quarter pipes, snowcross, bump terrain and other constructed or natural terrain features.
PRIOR to using Freestyle Terrain, you are responsible for familiarizing yourself with Freestyle Terrain and obeying all instructions, warnings and signs. Freestyle skills require maintaining control on the ground, and in the air.
Freestyle terrain comes in many shapes and sizes and it is important to know how to identify it on the slopes and to know the basic vocabulary. This section is dedicated to giving you some basic terrain park information.
The orange oval is a symbol, which identifies freestyle terrain on the hill. Check out the sample signage and vocabulary to make sure you're up to speed on the basics. Smart Style is a terrain park safety initiative, which you need to know to use terrain parks.

Freestyle Terrain may contain jumps, hits, ramps, embankments, fun boxes, jibs, rails, half pipes, quarter pipes, snow-cross terrain, freestyle mogul terrain and other constructed or natural terrain features. Freestyle skill involves maintaining control on the ground and in the air. Prior to using Freestyle Terrain, it is your responsibility to familiarize yourself with all instructions and warning and to follow the Alpine Responsibility Code.
Freestyle terrain use, like all skiing and snowboarding, exposes you to the risk of serious injury.
