Summer Adventure Camps

Summer 2017

Enrollment for Summer Adventure Camp Programs at Cypress Mountain is now available for three age groups between 6 and 15 years of age. Reserve early to ensure your spot for the Summer of 2017!

Our Adventure Camps were successfully introduced last year in August and this year we are expanding our capacity and will be operating from the historic Hollyburn Lodge site beside First Lake in the Nordic Ski Area. The Cypress Mountain Nordic Area is steeped in tradition and probably ranks as one of the most accessible Old Growth habitat areas in the Lower Mainland – a great place to stage these fun and educational Summer Camps.

Program Leader

Michael Thomas has 20 years of experience in developing and managing Summer Camp Programs for kids and teens in British Columbia. He is also the long time Nordic Ski School Director at Cypress Mountain and in that capacity, has taught thousands of school aged children and youth how to cross-country ski and snowshoe. Michael also teaches kids about their natural environment and has achieved his Certificate of Adventure Based Learning from the Justice Institute of BC. Our entire team looks forward to hosting active participation camps which will be fun and educational for our local kids.

This program, for children aged 6 to 8 years, will provide an introduction to the outdoors through nature-based games, arts and crafts in a safe and well-supervised setting. Your kids will have the opportunity to explore the Old Growth forest environment through short guided walks and scavenger hunts and they will finish the week eager to return and learn more!
