Huge thanks to all the Stores and independent participants that made Wednesday's Cypress 2008 Store Wars event a massive success. Thanks to the round-the-clock effort from the groomers and park crew, Cypress boasted the biggest kicker on the North Shore. At 50 feet long this monster was the centrepiece of the Bell Power Park and was well received by the riders. The slope style course included two smaller tables, long flat boxes and street rail/down-flat-down options. All the riders showed some impressive skills on the features provided. Riders for Pacificboarder dominated the long box with insane combos including tame-dogs, which were a crowd favourite. Taking out the girls was Karen Burt, showing up a lot of the guys with some sick 270s on and off the boxes. Ultimately, our celebrity judges were unanimous that Andrew Wood should walk away with First prize after throwing down over the main table. His winning run was a cab-5 off the toes followed by a flawless front board on the street-rail. He'd already impressed everyone with a series off super-corked spins earlier in the day.
Cheers to everyone who came out to make the event possible. Hope to see you all cutting loose up here again soon.
See you all next years for Store Wars 2009!!!
