  • Cypress Mountain is recruiting a Food & Beverage Director that has a passion for food and is a true leader that thrives in supporting the F&B team towards common goals. This involves providing direction, fostering a positive work environment and continuous training. The successful candidate will lead the F&B team of approximately 180 members, in the delivery of high-quality food and beverage service while managing the operations including the Cypress Creek Grill, the Crazy Raven Bar, Hollyburn Lodge and five other grab-and-go style outlets.   • Cypress Mountain is currently recruiting Lift Mechanics (Millwright/Millwright Apprentice) to join the Operations Team in a full time/year round role!! 

    Lift Mechanics are responsible for the maintenance and repair of the Cypress Mountain lifts as well as assist Lift Operations with the daily start-up and shutdown of them. They also read diagrams and manufacturers’ manuals, fit bearings, rebuild sheave trains, service grips and perform other mechanical procedures requiring specialized training. Lift Mechanics work at great heights on lift towers and lift lines, in all weather conditions.

     The Snowsports Director acts as a liaison between mountain management and the department comprised of 300+ Team members. They are an integral member of the Senior Leadership team; they actively participate in meetings and planning sessions, they uphold and support companywide policies and procedures, and foster an environment where open communication is key. GENERAL WINTER POSITIONS

  • Parking Attendant/Snow Shoveler:

    Directing traffic in the parking lots, shoveling snow, putting up fences and signs within the Base Area. The position is outside, working in all weather conditions.

  • Clean Team/Janitors:

    Are responsible for the cleaning, sanitization, garbage removal and daily maintenance of the Cypress Creek Lodge. This includes all common areas such as cafeteria, washrooms and walkways. 

  • The Cypress Base Team is the center of communication for the mountain. They receive, relay and record information, update the Cypress Mountain website, data-enter statistical data and dispatch appropriate departments when required around the mountain. A valid drivers license and insured/reliable vehicle are required to get to/from the mountain as Cypress Base shifts start and end outside the shuttle bus schedule.

  • Instructor Position Details  

    Ski/Snowboard Instructor:

    Supervise and instruct classes on the hill as well as assist with School events and operations. Must have minimum PSIC/CSIA/CASI Level 1 certification or equivalent. Part-time and full-time positions available.

    Snow School Trainers:

    Provide ongoing training and development for instructors. Ambassadors to the mountain, always ensuring that both staff and Guests are having a positive experience. Part-time positions are available.

    Lesson Desk: 

    Check Guests in for their pre-booked lessons, as well as answer general inquires. Strong customer service skills are essential, and administrative skills are required.

    Reservations: 

    Answering phone calls, as well as replying to online chats & emails about lesson programs is the primary responsibility of this role, as well as selling lesson programs and providing confirmation of sales. Strong customer service skills are essential, and administrative skills are required.

  • In the Food & Beverage Department, we offer a variety of different positions to suit all experience levels. Choose from our Cypress Creek Grill, to our fully licensed Crazy Raven Bar, to the Gold Medal Cafe, to our on-snow 'Shack'. Our work environment can provide flexible shift work that works around your needs. Shifts can start as early as 7:30am and others finish at 10:30pm.     Cypress Creek Grill & Burger Shack

    Frontline Food Counter Attendant - Currently recruiting
    Prepare, cook, counter-serve a variety of grab and go menu items for the Cypress Creek Grill and Gold Medal Cafe. Previous kitchen experience as asset but not required.

    Backline Cook - Currently recruiting

    Works primarily in the kitchen grilling, deep frying, baking, broiling and microwaving both raw and cooked foods for use in all 4 F&B Areas (Cypress Creek Grill, The Shack, The Gold Medal Cafe and Crazy Raven Bar). Consistent and open communication with Frontline Grill Cooks as well as the Crazy Raven Bar Kitchen is essential. Previous intermediate/advanced cooking and leadership experience required. 

    Dishwasher - Currently recruiting

    Washing and sanitizing of kitchen small wares, dishes and equipment. 2+ years' dishwashing experience in a high volume restaurant necessary for this role.

    Cashier - Full 

    Operating a point of sale terminal in a pleasant manner while processing various forms of payment. Re-stocking of products and condiments in the Cypress Creek Grill Area as well as keeping the sounding area clean are some of the other responsibilities. Bondable (able to pass a background check) as well as being able to handle high-volume sales are required. 

    Bussers - Full 

    Are responsible for the clearing of tables and sorting of products cleared from the tables into recycling vs garbage in the Cypress Creek Grill dining area, as well as the 3rd floor. They are also responsible for the sanitization and disinfecting of tables/chairs and trays.

    Crazy Raven Bar: 

    Server - Currently recruiting 

    Waiting tables and taking orders in a courteous and friendly manner. Previous 2+ years experience required for this busy, high volume bar.

    Bar Cook - Currently recruiting
    Responsible for the preparation of all menu items offered in the Crazy Raven Bar. This includes preparation and maintenance of quality standards, safety, sanitation and cleanliness. 1-2 years experience in a busy restaurant kitchen required.

    Host - Currently recruiting

    Split your time between working at the Host station checking vaccine passports/seating Guests as well as running food orders to tables/clearing tables.

    Gold Medal Cafe
    Barista: 

    Making and serving specialty coffee drinks in the Gold Medal Café. 1+ years' experience in a coffee bar is preferred for this busy outlet.

     

  • Guest Services Representative:

    Selling and processing a variety of season passes as well as Sky Cards. Answering general Guest inquiries and addressing concerns is also the primary function of this role. Administrative skills and strong customer service background are essential.

    Communications Team:

    Answering incoming phone calls to the mountain, online chats and emails in regards to all the products and programs Cypress Mountain offers. Administrative skills and strong customer service background are essential.

    Ticket Office Cashier:

    Must be bondable, reliable and able to handle transactions quickly with excellent customer service skills. Mountain and product knowledge is an asset.

  • Heavy Duty Mechanic:

    Heavy Duty Mechanics work as part of a team in our Mechanical Shop, repairing and maintaining the Cypress Fleet of vehicles. They work along-side the Grooming and Snow Removal Manager, Graveyard Snow Removal Supervisor and Grooming Supervisor. 

    Heavy Equipment Operator:

    Heavy Equipment Operators are responsible for removing snow from our parking lots and roadway. Experience operating related equipment and making mechanical repairs is a plus. BC Class 5 Driver's License needed and requires the ability to work graveyard shift. 

    Snow Removal - Plow Truck Driver:

    Plow Truck Drivers are responsible for removing snow from our roadway and parking lot areas. Our trucks require a BC Class 3 or 5 Driver's License with an air endorsement to operate. Previous experience and making mechanical repairs helpful. Flexible shifts including days/nights are available. 

    Snow Removal- Salt Brine Maker:

    Salt Brine Makers are responsible for manufacturing de-icer for roadway and parking lot areas. Experience operating small equipment is helpful. Flexible shifts including days/nights are available. 

  • Lift Operations - Lift Attendant:

    Assisting our skiing/snowboarding guests on and off of the lifts in a safe and courteous manner is the essence of the lift attendant. All work is outside, you must be 18 years of age and training will be provided.

    Lift Operations - Ticket Checker:

    Verifying the validity of our lift tickets and passes outdoors and in all weather conditions. Exceptional customer service and problem resolution skills a must.

    Groomer:

    Have a good knowledge of Pistonbully 400/600 Snow Cats? Have a good understanding of mountain terrain, snow conditions, and snow pack? Able to lift 40 lbs? Being a snow groomer is the job for you! Grooming the mountain is done at night, after the mountain closes so all grooming positions are graveyard shifts. Related equipment operating experience is required as well as a valid BC Class 5 Driver's License. 

    Pro-Patrol:

    Administering First Aid to injured skiers and snowboarders and maintaining safe conditions on the ski trails and base area are the primary responsibilities of our Patrol Department. Must be an advanced level skier or snowboarder and have your OFA Level III or equivalent 80 hour First Aid certificate. You must also have patrol experience or First Aid attendant experience and be able to ski "t-bogs" down icy black diamond runs.

    Terrain Park:

    Working outdoors maintaining and operating Cypress's terrain parks. Must be an advanced level skier/snowboarder with an enjoyment of riding park features who is in excellent physical condition and not afraid to work hard.

  • Ski & Snowboard Technician:

    Technical certification is provided for those with some mechanical aptitude and an ability to work quickly and efficiently setting the bindings on rental skis and boards. Must be a minimum 19+ years old for this role/indemnification. 

    Cashier:

    Pleasant, bondable mature individuals who are able to handle high volume sales in a pleasant manner.

    Repair Tech:

    Tuning and repairing of both skis and snowboards. You will be working on both customer's equipment and rental equipment. Experience is necessary for this position.

  • We are looking for dynamic, passionate individuals that enjoy sharing their knowledge with Guests about winter products, recommending the appropriate item(s) for purchase and everything snow sports related! A strong background in retail sales and snow sports is preferred for this role. 

  • Hollyburn Lodge - Enjoy working in a forest setting in the middle of the cross country area? Work in Hollyburn Lodge located just a 10-minute walk, ski or snowshoe from the Nordic Base Area.

    Frontline Attendants:

    Preparing, cooking, serving and processing payments are all part of this fast paced role. Food Safe Level 1 and Serving it Right are both an asset but we can also help with certification for interested applicants. 

    Hollyburn Lodge Supervisor:

    The Hollyburn Lodge Supervisor oversees the overall operation of Hollyburn Lodge including training new team members. A commitment to delivering and maintaining the highest quality customer service is essential. Food Safe & Serving It Right are required.

    Nordic Cafe - located in the Nordic Base Area, the Nordic Cafe offers grab and go, quick serve items and specialty coffees. 

    Frontline Attendants:

    Nordic Cafe Supervisor:

    The Nordic Cafe Supervisor oversees the overall operation of Nordic Cafe including training new Team members. A commitment to delivering and maintaining the highest quality customer service is essential.

     
  • Daily operations of Guest Services and Ticket sales, including lesson bookings and check-in, ticket sales and general inquiries. Must have strong customer service skills, the ability to multi-task and handle transitions quickly and accurately.

  • This hands-on, dynamic role consists of the following primary responsibilities within the Nordic Area: shoveling snow, the maintenance of buildings and other areas in the Nordic Area, directing traffic in the parking lot, transporting supplies to and from Hollyburn Lodge by snowmobile, light janitorial duties and light construction repairs (no experience necessary but certainly welcomed!). Having a vehicle and valid drivers license is an asset but not mandatory as this department uses a 4x4 pickup truck to carry out tasks mountain wide as well as has some but not all, start/end times outside the shuttle bus schedule.  This position works mostly outside, working in all weather conditions.

  • Setting up cross country skis (both classic and skate), setting up snowshoes and answering Guest inquiries are the primary responsibilities of this positions, a great role for people with a mechanical aptitude and an ability to work quickly and efficiently.

  • Administering First Aid to injured skiers and maintaining safe conditions of ski trails are the main function of this role. An 80-hour first aid certificate is required, experience in responding to first aid situations an asset but not necessary.  Having the ability to Cross country ski, especially skate skiing is an asset, but not required as you will learn as you go. As long as you are passionate about helping others and enjoy Cross Country skiing, this is the position for you!

  • Cross Country Ski Instructors:

    Are responsible for the supervision and instruction of classes, both classic and skate style, and assisting with Nordic Ski School events and operations. CANSI certification is required but training may also be provided for those with intermediate skiing ability. 

    Cross Country Ski School Supervisor:

    The Nordic Ski School Supervisor will be expected to fulfil a range of supervisory and administrative duties including assisting with health and safety record keeping, scheduling and Team communications. The Supervisor will also help manage instructors, guides and hosts on snow and assist with team training. The Supervisor is also expected to liaise with other departments, most notably Food and Beverage, Rentals, Nordic Patrol and Nordic Guest Services as well as be available to instruct ski lessons, lead snowshoe tours, assist with hosting and trail maintenance, and other duties as required.

    Nordic Hosts:

    Nordic Hosts are responsible for setting up/taking down of the Nordic base area and managing the traffic flow within the Nordic base area each day/evening. In addition to checking tickets/passes Nordic Hosts are responsible for answering questions, providing direction to Guests and surveying/soliciting feedback from Guests. Nordic Hosts are expected to liaise & support other departments in fulfilling their duties, most notably Food and Beverage, Rentals, Nordic Patrol and Guest Services. Strong customer service skills, inter-personal skills and the ability to work outside, are required for the job.

    Nordic Host Supervisor:

    The Nordic Host Supervisor is responsible for managing and scheduling Nordic Hosts as well as the training and performance of Nordic Hosts in their duties. Please see above for Nordic Hosts daily duties. 

  • Assisting Guests in the Tube Park including giving out tubes, maintenance of the tube chutes, line control as well a some Team members being involved in operating the ‘tube tow'.
