This letter contains some important information about the product you have just purchased and how to process your season pass. You can process your pass on the Mountain on your first time up to ski or ride or bike. Downhill skiers and snowboarders can go to Guest Services or Alpine Ski School and Cross-Country skiers to the Cross Country ticket office and Biker to the Bike Centre. Call Guest Services at 604.926.5612 for details.

When processing your season pass, be prepared to have your photograph taken. We will require you to sign a Release of Liability form.


With a OneNiter (your bonus included in the Ski School Lesson Program) you can ski or ride one specified night of the week for the entire season from 4pm to close, with rentals (if you purchased the rental option). We strongly recommend processing your OneNiter Season Pass prior to the start of the season, to avoid line-ups. Ski School members must process their OneNiter season pass prior to the first lesson.
You may take your 5 lessons anytime before March 23, 2008 and ski or ride on the night you have chosen for your OneNiter Pass. Your program includes five 2-hour lessons, a full day lift ticket on the day of your lessons and full day rental (if you purchased the rental option).

 

If you have purchased a Tic Pac or Gift Certificates, you may pick up your product on-mountain in the Alpine Guest Services.  To have your order mailed out, please contact Guest Services at 604.926.5612.

 

General Information
Bring this receipt with you for processing.
The Release of Liability and Waiver of Claims must be signed by all passholders at the time of pass processing (children ages 12 and under require their parents
Be prepared to have your photo taken.
Passholders may be required to show proof of age, Seniors will be required to show their gold Healthcare Card.
All passholders will be required to sign the Conditions of Sale agreeing to the proper use of your Cypress Mountain Seasons Pass.
The Winter season generally starts around December 1st, give or take a week either way.
The Winter Shuttle bus departs from Lonsdale Quay and Park Royal (south mall). Call 604-419-7669 or visit www.cypressmountain.com for rates and schedules.
Mountain Conditions are available on the snow phone at 604-419-SNOW (7669) or at www.cypressmountain.com.
Lockers are available in the Rental Centre of the downhill area.
Clothing can be rented on the mountain in both downhill and cross- country areas. Jackets and pants can be rented separately or as a combination.

 

Recommended Clothing
Skiing and Snowboarding are outside activities, and although you should be prepared for any weather conditions, clothing should not restrict movement.  Essential clothing should include: Wool hat or toque, turtleneck and sweater, goggles, long underwear, water-resistant pants, mittens/gloves, warm-weather resistant jacket. All weather jackets and pants are available for rental on the mountain.

Adult Lesson Program
Lesson/ticket visits are offered on a drop-in, first come first served basis. The lesson and rental times cannot be guaranteed. Sometimes we need to postpone lessons due to adverse weather conditions so call the snow phone at 604.419.SNOW (7669) before leaving to ensure your lesson is running on schedule.

Lesson Times available – Monday – Friday: 11:30am, 7:30pm
Saturday, Sunday (& Holidays): 10:30am, 1:30pm, 3:30pm

On the day of your Lesson – Check in at least 1 hour prior to lesson.


Lift/Lesson
Tickets
Proceed to the ski and snowboard school. A lift, lesson and rental (if required) ticket will be issued once we have checked your OneNiter Pass. Proceed to the rental shop to pick up your equipment. You will be required to show your OneNiter Pass ID and a deposit will be required each time you rent.
Lesson Proceed to the Meeting area located at the base of the Midway chair, 15 minutes prior to your lesson. If you have not registered, report to the Ski/Snowboard School office for lift ticket and availability of lessons and equipment.

On your OneNiter night – Lift: At 4:00pm on your chosen night proceed directly to the lifts for validation.
Renters: Pick up your equipment at the rental shop on presentation of your OneNiter Pass.

Skier Profile
Never Ever New skier who has only a brief intro to skiing (unable to stop/turn).
Level 1 Skier who can maintain a balanced position, while linking turns and controlling stops on beginner terrain.
Level 2 Skier who can perform continuous round snowplow turns of on green/novice runs.
Level 3 Confident skier who can complete turns with a skidded parallel finish on green/novice and easy blue/intermediate runs.
Level 4 Skier performing parallel turns with wedge initiation on blue/intermediate runs.
Level 5 Skier can link parallel turns in an open track stance and can competently ski blue/intermediate runs using varying turns.
Level 6 Skier can perform smooth round turns of large radius on moderately steep/irregular (blue and black) terrain.
Level 7 Expert skier on all terrain's capable of dynamic turns with finesse on all runs. Ready to challenge CSIA Level I.

 

Snowboarder Profile
Never Ever New Snowboarder/person who has only had a brief introduction to snowboarding.
Level 1 Boarder who can ride easy terrain, stop on both heel and toe side of snowboard and can perform basic heel and toe sliding turns, but has difficulty linking them.
Level 2 Can ride chairlifts, snowboard green/novice runs and confidently link turns.
Level 3 Performs heel and toe side carved turns. Boards blue/intermediate runs with confidence, challenges advanced/black runs and occasionally boards off groomed runs through moguls.
Level 4 Snowboards advanced/black runs, free-style manoeuvres and is able to ride switch stance (backwards).

Rental Equipment
Your equipment is your responsibility while in your possession. Use the Ski/Snowboard Check whilst on the mountain and return all equipment before leaving the mountain. Failure will result in a $10 RESTOCKING FEE or the REPLACEMENT COST if the equipment is stolen.

 

JUNIOR LESSON CAMPS
PLEASE CHECK IN every morning by 8:30am on the outside deck of the Black Mountain Lodge (cafeteria).

 

Proceed to rentals to get your child's equipment and then return your child and their ski/snowboard equipment to the outside deck of the Black Mountain Lodge.

 

Lunches
Your child must stay with their instructor for the entire day including the lunch period. Lunches can be brought from home or purchased from us in the morning when you check in, the program lunch is $9.00 and includes a sandwich, a bag of chips, a juice box, and a cookie. There are shelves available for a SMALL bag for a lunch, a snack, a thermos and extra clothing and mitts. Parents are not able to have lunch with the children during the program nor can your child be taken to the cafeteria to purchase lunch. 

 

Weather on the mountain is subject to change. Please dress your child accordingly.  Please ensure that your child has a toque or helmet, goggles, sunglasses, and sunscreen, ski/snowboard gloves or mittens – not cotton or wool - and an extra sweatshirt or fleece for those cooler days. It is advisable to have your child's name on all his/her belongings and equipment. We also recommend extra gloves or mittens and socks – especially for snowboarders.

 

Check Out
Your child will be ready to be picked up in the Brown Bag Room by 3:30pm. You MUST sign your child out with the instructor. If you are not picking up your child, we require a signed permission letter from you authorizing another individual to take your child home.

 

We hope your child will be able to attend each day. It is very important that your child attend their specific camp dates. Make-up days for missed lessons will be at a to be determined time - Please Ski School for updates.

 

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to speak to your child's instructor at the end of the day.
