Tonight I was blessed with a wonderful snowshoe tour at Cypress for the Music Night Tour.
For four lovely hours my group enjoyed a guided tour by our wonderful guide Kelvin, who was very knowledgable and kept our evening fun. We hiked, we learned about the forest on Hollyburn Ridge, we had fun sliding, and we also enjoyed live music and food at the newly renovated Hollyburn Lodge.
If you haven’t tried snowshoeing, it is a must. It can be as easy or hard as you want it to be since there are trails for a casual stroll, or a bit harder climbs if you are more adventurous and like meandering through the trees. In keeping with my own mantra about how important getting some fresh air and exercise is for mental health, it definitely fits the bill.
To top it off, I was able to enjoy the experience with my husband, my daughter and one of my dearest friends. Seriously, it couldn’t get much better. Enjoying the outdoors with people I care about, laughing, having fun, and topping the evening with music, food and drink — all good! I should also mention it ended with a chocolate fondue! Yep, heaven all round.
It was interesting at the Hollyburn Lodge watching people enjoying this Heritage Building. There were young people, couples, families with small children, older folks . . . all drinking in the freedom that being in the middle of the forest offers. Unabashed eating, drinking, dancing and a darn good time.
Another great opportunity to enjoy, so close to home.
